2011: LGC fosters better health, conquers more opportunities
The Lina Group of Companies upholds the annual tradition of starting the new year with a thanksgiving mass and flag ceremony on the first working day of the year. LGC employees gathered in the early morning of January 3 to have their body mass indexes checked in line with the new health and wellness project advocated by Chairman Bert Lina and wife Sylvia.
Fr. Pogi S. Andres graced the thanksgiving mass by highlighting the benefits of health during his Homily. A flag raising ceremony led by Vicky Villarosa of the Linaheim Corporate Services, Inc. (LCSI) HR Department followed the mass. Atty. Geraldine Paloma of the LCSI Legal Department powered the aerobic exercise.

In line with the new LCSI project called Live Life @ LGC, Mrs. Sylvia P. Lina called for more health conscious employees. Mr. Jun Lauro, the new Corporate Human Capital Management Department Director, presented the program framework starting off with a video clip showing the health-related efforts done by LGC through the years.
Live Life @ LGC is a health and awareness program that calls for a balance life. “Healthy people promote healthy culture”, says Mr. Lauro. The program is done through a holistic framework that targets the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness of an individual. The initial move to get the body mass index (BMI) of the employees, in cooperation with the Corporate Clinic, gives a wider perspective on which Weight Watch category to consider. The Weight Watch program is one of the main highlights of the project which advocates the employees normal BMI. Along with that are life coaching and spiritual-related activities that nourish well-rounded individuals.
A total of 319 participants registered for the event. This vast number of participants is a signal of high interest and a healthier LGC environment by December 2011.
LGC Chairman Bert Lina declared his vision to take on the opportunities for LGC in 2011 through promoting the Air21 brand. His vision to reach higher on 2011 gave him confidence in saying that “we’re full blast on computerization, we’re full blast on people”.
